“The Thatched Houses” world

In 2021, Yancheng spent RMB 500 million to build a paradise for children, because of a book.

In 2016, Professor Cao Wenxuan won the Hans Christian Andersen Award, which is the first time a writer of China has won this honour. He was born in Xuefu Town, Yancheng, where the Caofangzi Theme Park now located. His novel, “The Thatched Houses” was selected into the “New China 70 Years 70 Novels Collection”.

Five years later, Yancheng invested RMB 500 million, in order to build a realistic “The Thatched Houses” world,  a rural paradise for children.

Caofangzi Theme Park divided into four themed areas, each with different characteristics and experiences, including the way to school, reminiscences, diathesis advance, and education.
